After much consideration, I could not resist purchasing these Cobra Rock desert boots. When they first appeared on my radar, I thought I'd like to have a pair if only they were black. No luck. Cobra Rock doesn't do black (yet). Upon further thought, I remembered there is something quite raw and utterly beautiful about oiled brown leather as it ages - not to mention how modern it looks with monochrome black clothing.
Since I came to live in Texas, I've been slowly accumulating handmade goods created by local craftspeople, artists and artisans. Cobra Rock boots are designed and made in Marfa, a strange little art town in the Chihuahuan Desert of Far West Texas. And since today is #ThrowbackThursday, here are a few posts from my 2012 Marfa pilgrimage: 1.5.12, 8.5.12, and 15.5.12.
Do you wear brown boots with all black clothing? Have you been to Marfa?
