My autumn road trip to the American Southwest was - for lack of better words - life affirming and more amazing than the first time I laid eyes on that vast and colorful landscape. I'm still editing photographs and intend to blog them here once I can make time to do so. Until then, you can see my highlights on Instagram

Have you taken any life affirming trips lately?

Tomorrow I leave on holiday to the Grand Canyon National Park. Have you seen it? I've been once before but that was many moons ago. Even though I was a mere teen at the time, it changed my young life - opened my eyes to rugged beauty, wide open spaces and endless possibilities.

Catch up with me during the trip on Instagram.

RICK OWENS LILIES CARDIGAN AND SHORTS, RICK OWENS VICIOUS SS14 TANK, ACNE PISTOL BOOTS, PAMELA LOVE EAGLE TALON EARRING, CHANEL COCO NOIR EDP.

Each Rick Owens item pictured here is constructed of lightweight bouncy fabrics - perfect for still warm days as we slowly transition to the much anticipated cool months. (Do you know what I mean by 'bouncy' fabrics? RO tends to use strangely compelling, springy material for his knits, especially the Lilies jersey blends. The material has a certain airiness, spring and bounce.)

THEORY BLAZER, RICK OWENS LILIES TOP, HELMUT LANG SHORTS, ACNE BOOTS, CHANEL COCO NOIR EAU DE PARFUM.

It's still too hot out for a wool blazer but I'd just spend several hours in a frigid art museum prior to shooting this post. I get cold easily. Nevertheless, you will find me lately outfitted in a light jacket and shorts as the residual summer heat slowly (very slowly) wanes. Texas, y'all.

My Summer of Transformation is coming to a close and, to re-cap, I've made several personal and professional changes. A few highlights: I accepted a golden opportunity to develop new skills in my art career. I tweaked my appearance with a liberating new haircut, freedom from bleach and color. Started running. Tried Kundalini. Meditated at a Buddhist temple. Ramped up my health and wellness regime including a major chiropractic overhaul. Spend quality time with family.

Next on the agenda: Autumn Renewal. Watch this space for more.

As your summer (or winter, in southern latitudes) closes, I'd like to know: what did you change, tweak or improve?

And on the fashion front, I'm about to head over to Nordstrom for their Triple Points shopping days (ends tomorrow). I think I hear Zella Activewear calling my name...
